Plasma Display TV
A plasma display panel is a type of flat display, which can be seen in TV. The two panels of glasses have a mixture of noble gases. The gas between these cells is converted electrically into the plasma. Plasma has the property to excite the phosphorus present in the cells so that they emit light. It is not similar to LCD screen.
The plasma screen is brighter. They have the property of low luminance, black color, but LCD screen has light grey color. The thickness of plasma display is six centimeter, Plasma display has a disadvantage. It has been seen that they reflect more light than LCD display. The front screen is made up of material which can reflect more light than the LCD screen. There are many advantages of a plasma screen.
- Plasma screen is larger
- It has thin screen, which is produced
- The image of the plasma display is very bright
- Their angle formation is wide
- Their color formation is better than other LCDs
They do not degrade at high angles, however, along with many advantages, there are few disadvantages.
- The old model had the problem of Screen burn-in and image maintenance
- Usually it has seen that it is only in bigger sizes
- In old models, they loose luminous intensity and brightness
- It consumes more electricity
- It is heavy, as compared to LCD
Plasma TV leads to global warming. This is due to the gas nitrogen trifluoride. This gas is used in the production of plasma screens. It also lags behind LCD in the energy consumption.
